In this report – 'Community action on empty homes' – we share learning from six demonstration projects, all employing community-based approaches to bring empty homes back into use. This report aims to encourage others to form community-based partnerships which work towards bringing empty homes back into use for local people.

The York Press reports the number of homes sitting empty in York has increased by nearly 50% - one of the sharpest rises in the country, according to Government figures. Our Campaign Manager, Chris Bailey, gives his view in the story.

In the London Borough of Tower Hamlets after three attempts to sell an ex-keyworker home in Bethnal Green, housing association Peabody has announced it will open it to a family on the borough's housing waiting list. The home was empty for ten months. Action on Empty Homes Director comments.
