We have two opportunities for Environmental Health Officers / Senior Technical Officers to join the Commercial & Licensing Team to undertake a range of duties. Being EHORB registered and food competent, food hygiene will be a key aspect of your varied workload. With the Team also covering Health & Safety, infectious disease control, statutory nuisance, licensed premises, taxi licensing and various other licensing activities, you will also be involved in a wide range of investigations and inspections in relation to Commercial activities within the city. You will be supported in your work by your Team colleagues, including both a Principal EHO and Senior Technical Officer(s). You will join us with experience of working with the public, carrying out investigations and inspections, and an in-depth and current knowledge of legislation in food hygiene and health and safety law; existing licensing knowledge would be a bonus. You will have the ability to communicate well at all levels and will be able to present facts and negotiate in a balanced manner. Confident in the preparation and construction of reports you will be able to interpret legislation and apply standards and legal requirements to support decisions. For both roles you will already have a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health or the Higher Certificate in Food Control with the Food Inspection endorsement.
