Latest
August 6, 2018
The campaigning charity Empty Homes (previously the Empty Homes Agency and soon to be 'Action on Empty Homes') has initiated a major new 'Campaign for Community Investment' that lobbies for capital investment in areas with higher numbers of empty homes. The campaign is funded by the Oak Foundation and builds on research conducted by Brighid Carey of EH, published earlier this year, into demonstration projects with signifcant community involvement. It is promoted by the newly-created 'Coalition for Community Investment in areas with high levels of Empty Homes' which is chaired by cross-bench peer Lord Richard Best and was launched at the House of Lords on July 18th. The Coalition comprises:
  • Association of Residential Letting Agents / National Association of Estate Agents: Propertymark
  • Crisis
  • Empty Homes, national campaigning charity
  • Federation of Master Builders
  • Locality
  • National Community Land Trust Network
  • Northern Housing Consortium
  • National Housing Federation
  • Residential Landlords Association
There is additional tier defined as supporters, which includes the National Housing Federation and Crisis. Further details about the Campaign can be found on the EH website here.
