Event Details

A new initiative for the Network, the EHN Regional Roundtables provide a dedicated, online space for empty homes practitioners to come together in a supportive and collaborative forum. Initially to be held triannually, these sessions are designed to enable officers to share ideas, discuss casework, exchange best practice and reflect on challenges with peers working in similar roles, within a friendly and like-minded environment.

Established across all nine regions of England, alongside an additional Roundtable for Wales, sessions are open to EHN Corporate Members and will take place virtually, making them accessible regardless of location.

As part of EHN’s ambition to expand its reach and strengthen practitioner input into our policy development and lobbying activity, the Regional Roundtables will play an important role in shaping the Network’s understanding of emerging issues, pressures and opportunities at a regional and local level. They are intended to complement rather than replace existing forums and networks, adding value to the landscape of practitioner engagement already taking place.

Each Roundtable will also feature guest speakers, with content shaped by regional priorities. Speakers, sessions and contributors will be drawn from across the empty homes sector and wider housing field, responding to the issues and expertise most relevant to each region.

About Fleetwood Heir Hunting

Fleetwood is a specialist genealogy firm with a dedicated Public Sector team supporting local authorities to bring unused homes back into productive use. Through expert genealogical research, historical investigation and family tracing, we help councils resolve complex ownership issues and unlock the potential of long-term empty properties.

Our free service provides councils and public sector organisations with a speedy and sensitive approach to tracing missing owners, heirs, and executors, often successful within 24 hours. Combining traditional genealogy with modern data analysis, we establish clear ownership pathways that support housing regeneration and the return of empty homes to use.

We collaborate with our in-house probate arm to conduct the estate administration where required and have established professional partnerships with trusted organisations to enable the smooth sale of properties where appropriate. Therefore, we can provide a complete end-to-end service designed to simplify and consolidate all elements of property recovery.

By helping resolve ownership barriers, Fleetwood plays a vital role in returning empty homes back to communities, thus increasing housing availability, reducing property neglect and preventing formal enforcement action.

With a commitment to public service, we deliver reliable genealogy solutions that help councils transform empty properties into valuable homes for the future.
