A little knowledge about London housing is a dangerous thing - critique of recent research into buy-to-leave
August 28, 2017
Makes some interesting points about the recent York University and LSE research into buy-to-leave in Central London, calling into question the robustness of the data and underlying assumptions.
The criticism of the LSE report seems over-cooked, relying as it does to some extent on the idea that qualitative research doesn't produce robust answers because of the biases of those interviewed. That may be true, and no doubt more care could have been taken to identify the risks, but such research should not be dismissed out of hand without better arguments as to why it would be biased and in what direction.
This appears to be a reposting of an article in the FT.
