Housing Benefit Regulation changes 2010 - consultation

This web-page contains information about and links to the consultation on housinig benefit changes proposed for April 2011 including the removal of the £15 retention by households in cheaper properties and in particular the restriction of the LHA to the 30th percentile.
This last proposal is likely to have a severe impact on homelessness and on the prevention-of-homelessness initiatives promoted as part of empty homes initiatives. It is likely to become significantly harder to recruit landlords to schemes in some areas where the LHA is already a fair way below market rents.
