This 16-page guide from Shelter is aimed at the Scottish Empty Homes Partnership but many of the exemplar schemes are from English Authorites such as Amber Valley. Much of the content would be applicable to any of the countries forming the United Kingdom, even though funding streams and funding organisations might not have the same names. It is a useful aide memoire that provides an overview of the different possible sources of empty homes funding.
It also provides useful insight into recent council tax policy developments in Scotland where the additional revenue from LTE's is retained by council and moves have been proposed (but not implemented) to give councils the flexibity to charge over 100% of the normal council tax rate on LTEs.
