Streamlining council housing asset management: Disposals and use of receipts - Consultation

This consultation is about disposing of surplus council homes and making it easier to do so by relaxing existing controls.
Under the proposed arrangements, leases of under 7 years would not be caught.
However - these consents interact with the General Consents under Section 25 of the Local Government Act 1988, which apply where there is an element of "gratuitous benefit" (at one time the two sets of consents were issued in one document, but no longer).
