The National Empty Homes Conference held in Birmingham on 29th May proved a great success. In addition to the full programme, delegates were able to hear Andrew Stunell MP - our "Minister for Empty Homes" - announce significant funding allocations.
The Minister went on to present the
Grafton UK Ltd. Empty Homes Practitioner of the Year Award, won by Keith Shields of South Tyneside.
He also presented "Highly commended" awards to Daniel Mahon of Equfund (IPS) Ltd. and to the Wirral Empty Homes team collectively - the award being presented to Paul Jackson (pictured).
The event was held in a new venue, Maple House run by etcvenues, and the modern facilities, good food and refreshments were appreciated by nearly all those attending, who numbered over 100.

Matt Smith of Brimingham City Council and the Empty Homes Network Vice-Chair presided. His dry humour created a relaxed atmosphere, assisted by the cabaret-style seating arrangements.
The light and comfortable dining area was much appreciated and allowed lively conversations
