The Home Again Empty Homes Conference in London on Monday 23rd May, jointly organised by ourselves and the charity Empty Homes, lived up to expectations as the most substantial empty homes conference yet held.
People from across the spectrum of public, not-for-profit and private sectors were given insights into a wide range of innovative approaches by speakers who, in turn, came from all sectors of the empty homes world.
The Conference featured a speech by Minister
Andrew Stunell (pictured below), underlining the importance attached to the issue of empty homes by the Coalition government.
A further highlight for Network members was the Empty Homes Practitioner of the Year Award given by
Ad Hoc Property Management Ltd. to
Emma Kumar and
Patrick Gordon of Brighton and Hove City Council (pictured above). Runners-up were
Lesley Conroy of Coast and Country Housing Association and
Vicky Jackson of Stocton-on-Tees council.
