Shelter Scotland are recruiting an Empty Homes Co-ordinator for Scotland on a 2-year contract.
Their advert is shown below.
Empty Homes Co-ordinator
£31,838 Edinburgh
Every year, Shelter Scotland helps people to fight for their rights, get back on their feet and find and keep a home. We also tackle the root causes of Scotland’s housing crisis, campaigning for new laws, policies and solutions. Our small but dynamic Policy Team is a major driving force behind our work, enabling us to meet the challenges of the future at a time when housing issues have never been higher on the public agenda.
In this new post, funded by the Scottish Government and reporting to an advisory group of public, private and voluntary sector partners, you’ll enjoy considerable autonomy as you provide practical support to local authorities, private owners and other parties – aiming to reduce the number of empty homes and setting targets to achieve this. You’ll need senior-level project development experience – either working directly with empty homes, or in a related area such as housing regeneration, investment or strategy. The role also calls for knowledge of housing policy – particularly of the incentives and enforcement powers that apply to empty properties in the private sector.
This is a fixed-term contract for two years, secondments welcomed. Closing date: 10 February 2010.
