The Post-of-the-Month Award for March goes to
Lynne Campbell of South Lakeland District Council for her blog,
Life in the Lakes. It's great that Lynne has stuck her head above the parapet and offered us - and anyone else who encounters our website - an insight into the issues that confront empty homes practitioners day-to-day, whether practical or strategic.
The award is not for any particular blog entry (though these may indeed deserve individual awards) but for the fact that she has made the decision to blog in the first place. We hope that this will inspire other practitioners to blog about their experiences. It's another way in to unravel what practitioners could or should or do do, and can fire off the occasional controversy as for example Lynne did with her recent blog about letters for owners seeking VAT reliefs. One way or another, Lynne's blog brings a whole new dimension to the website.
Lynne's £15 Amazon voucher is on its way and we'll add her picture when we get one.
Also in March we would like to give an honourable mention* to Judith McTaggart's post about
leasehold issues associate with Enforced Sales. Judith's post was a question rather than an answer and serves to underline that intelligent questions also warrant awards if they help us learn from them. Regrettably, Judith's post did not receive a response and hopefully this news item might prompt someone to supply one now - better late than never. If you can help, we hope you'll contribute an answer.
*[As Judith is not a Full Member of the Network she is not eligible for a cash award.]
