We have been approached by television production company Keo Films to try and source a serious pest problem and a serious pest officer - who, it seems, has to be female. (The pests can be any gender as far as we know, although we hear they're normally male).
If you have an empty property - or particularly several empties - in your area that suffer from pests and your or colleagues have got involved, then this is an opportunity to highlight a particular aspect of the empty homes issue and also (if you are the responsible officer) your role in tackling the problem. Even if you are not the Pest Officer we guess you might get your 15 minutes of fame via a Special Guest appearance.
The approved wording from the BBC is as follows:
Have you got rats or cockroaches? Do you have an infestation of another pest? Does your home or business need rescuing? Whether it’s bed lice, mice or even snakes, this Summer we are looking for major pest infestations across the North West of England, the Midlands, and in London and the South East for a new BBC2 television series.
Keo Films is making the new documentary series, The Ladykillers (working title), about 3 female pest controllers and their work. We will be taking an in depth look at the life of the pests as well, using specialist cameras. The series will aim to understand how pests behave, and the science behind why infestations happen.
From July to Mid September, if you have a big infestation we could help. We are interested in large scale jobs like a row of terraces or block of flats that share a problem; a shopping mall; a farm or small holding; or even an office block. Also get in touch if you have a smaller scale problem, like cockroaches in the kitchen, mice in the loft or moles in the garden.
We’d love to hear from you if you need help with pests. Please contact us at pests@keofilms.com
