Latest
July 23, 2023

The Empty Homes Network are pleased to announce a new partnership with The Local Government Association to deliver an exciting research project aimed at showcasing best practice and developing policy recommendations around empty homes.

The report will also look to recommend the implementation of a number of best practice models, developed in conjunction with empty homes officers including a comprehensive procedure flowchart, a definitive reporting database, and a case investigation checklist.

The report will look to the future of empty homes, what may happen to the statistics and number of empty homes in the years to come, and how councils can play a critical part in developing the tools required to encourage more homes to be proactively brought back into use.

This work will culminate with the presentation of the report’s findings, and the proposed recommendations for local authorities with a webinar hosted by the LGA on Thursday 21st September at 10:30.
