Will McMahon to leave Action On Empty Homes - A Thank You from EHN

Latest
August 7, 2022

Will McMahon, Director for the campaigning organisation Action on Empty Homes, is to step down from the role in the Autumn after over four years in the role.

Having succeeded Helen Williams in 2018, Will’s leadership has been instrumental in raising the profile of empty and underutilised homes across the country. Spearheading successful campaigns such as the National Empty Homes Week, Will has led the team through the transition from the Empty Homes Agency through to Action on Empty Homes seamlessly, and in doing so brought the issue to the attention of those in both central and local government.

A regular presenter at the EHN Annual National Conference, Will has also been a key figure in the formation of the Global Empty Homes Network, bringing together academics and practitioners worldwide in order to highlight the waste of empty and underutilised homes across different continents, and how different countries differ in their approach to tackle them.

The Empty Homes Network would like to place on record their sincere thanks to Will for his backing and leadership throughout his tenure, his support of the Network and its members, and for his work in raising the profile of empty homes across the country.

Having formed a very close working relationship between the respective organisations over the past three years, the Empty Homes Network wish Will the very best for the future, and look forward to meeting and working very closely with Will’s successor.

The role of Director for Action on Empty Homes is currently being advertised, and can be found here.
