Win £25 for your website contributions

Latest
December 8, 2011
To make the Empty Homes Network an even richer experience for its Members, we're going to reward Members who post the most useful contributions to the web-site - a bit like a "Letter of the Month" or "Star Letter". You can win up to £25 with your contribution. We know that you will continue to contribute anyway as you have always done. We know that people don't do it for the money. But there's nothing wrong in earning a bonus that can give you an extra little glow inside. And yes, maybe some people will make the effort who haven't previously done so or those that already contribute might want to go that extra mile to offer yet more. If you don't want to accept a financial reward for something that you feel you would do anyay in the interest of the community, you don't have to accept it - and your contribuiton will then be acknowledged simply by an announcement in the EHN news section of the site. But the offer is on the table and we hope no one will feel bad about accepting it. The reward is there for a good reason - because you are making the Network better for everyone. Spreading the load of keeping the website up-to-date and informative can only be good for us all and makes the whole organisation more robust and less dependent on a single source of input.. What counts? Your contribution can be of any kind eg
  • a posting in a forum - even a particularly probing or intelligent question
  • an Information Library item that we've overlooked (and there are plenty of those)
  • a local news story that you write about successes or problems in your area
If you are not sure how to do any of these things, contact us via the normal routes. How much can I win? Rewards will be exclusively in the form of Amazon vouchers unless there is a good reason to do otherwise The amount of the reward may be anywhere between £10 and £25 and we may give one or more rewards in any given period of time. If we get a quiet period with few contributions then we may not make an award. We'll be looking at aspects such as "how useful is it?", "how much time did it take?", how well presented is it?". Who decides? Awards will be made by the Member Services sub-committee of the Executive in discussion with the Secretary/Web-site Manager and their decision will be final. The first awards will be made around the time of our Executive on the 14th December. Certain people will not be eligible for the award
  • Secretary, Chair and Treasurer
  • people involved in making the award
  • Associate Members
Others such as Andrew Lavender have already indicated that they will not accept a monetary award (thus giving the rest of you some chance). So the field is open folks.
