Presented at our annual Conference in May, the EHN Awards serve to recognise and celebrate the work that empty homes officers, team and practitioners do on a daily basis, and enable them to promote their successes through national recognition. This year was no different, with some incredible examples of projects, case studies and people, who have displayed fantastic attributes to bring empty homes back into use in their areas.

The Innovation Award, sponsored by NPLaw, looks to recognise how authorities have used creative and progressive methods and partnerships to tackle challenging cases.Empty property practitioners excel at providing a wide range of solutions to the problem of wasted homes. This award aims to highlight the innovative thinking required to deal with the difficult long-term empties in a way that provides new solutions to old problems.

Highly Commended in this award Category were Bristol City Council, and their partnership with University Hospitals Bristol and the Weston NHS Foundation Trust.

On selecting the winners of this award as Dorset Council and Lendology CiC, the panel said…

“A growing and successful relationship, collaboration and innovative thinking to find workable solutions should rightly be shared and celebrated, and for this reason, are worthy and deserving winners of this year’s innovation award.”

Congratulations to Dorset Council and Lendology CiC on their growing partnership and continuing achievements!
