EHN Conference 2024: Event success shows appetite for empty homes work

With over 130 people packed into the Studio in Birmingham, this year’s Empty Homes Conference showcased new schemes, innovative approaches and updated legislation for those in attendance.

On a wet and grey day in the Midlands, delegates came from far and wide to hear how local authorities and empty homes practitioners are adapting and updating their processes, in order to maximise their numbers of empty homes brought back unto use.

Sessions including A Criminal Waste, or a Criminal Enterprise? by Neil Tonge, ‘Using Section 106 Funding to bring Empty Homes Back into use’ were just two of the highlights in a full schedule, which included Conference favourites Andrew Lavender and NP Law.

After a informative and inspiring day, it is both rewarding and encouraging to see so many local authorities wanting to further their knowledge and experience of other empty homes practices, and we were delighted to be able host this event again this year, and bring those with the expertise under one roof.

A huge thanks to our sponsors, exhibitors and supporters, who were on hand throughout the day. From Fraser & Fraser, this year’s main event sponsor, through to Finders International, Estate Research Ltd, No Use Empty: Kent, NP Law, Bevan Brittan, Grafton Empty Homes, Taylor Emmet Solicitors, Ad Hoc Property Management, Land Hero, Town & Country Auctions and Habitat for Humanity GB.

And finally, a huge thank you to all of our delegates from braving the rain, travel issues and traffic, for making the day a great success!
