With just one month to go until the National Empty Homes Conference 2026, anticipation is building for what promises to be an engaging and insightful day in Birmingham, on Wednesday 20th May.

This year’s conference will once again host the EHN Awards, recognising outstanding contributions across the field. The EHN awards shine a spotlight on innovation, dedication, and impact within empty homes work.
Across seven categories, there are a variety of opportunities for individuals, councils and organisations to showcase their efforts, promote their successes and achievements locally, and to cement their position as an area of work that makes a significant difference locally and receive national recognition.
The Empty Homes Network welcomes submissions and nominations for all categories, and strongly encourages those practitioners to nominate themselves, and highlight their personal achievements in what is often a challenging and isolating role.

A highlight of the Conference programme will be a dedicated Enforcement Q&A session with Andrew Lavender.
This interactive segment offers a valuable opportunity to explore current challenges, discuss practical approaches, and gain clarity on enforcement issues directly from an experienced voice in the field.
We encourage delegates to come prepared with questions, however, you can submit your questions to Andrew in advance by emailing them to [email protected]. Submission should be received by Wednesday 13th May.
Back by popular demand, our 1-2-1 Surgery Sessions will provide attendees with the chance to book individual time with our legal experts on the day. These sessions are designed to offer tailored advice, guidance, and discussion on specific issues related to your challenging case studies.
Our partners from Bevan Brittan, nplaw and Taylor Emmet will be available throughout the day to lend their expertise on issues such as CPOs, Enforced Sales, Probate and Dispute Resolution, and spaces for these sessions are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
