We are delighted to announce that Steven Parkin, a senior representative from Homes England, will be joining us as a featured speaker at our Conference this May.
Steven will be attending to discuss the UK Government’s newly launched Social and Affordable Homes Programme (SAHP), a major 10-year programme providing grant funding to support the delivery of new social and affordable housing across England. The SAHP, running from 2026 to 2036, aims to maximise the supply of genuinely affordable homes and includes provisions for repurposing and bringing empty homes back into use, supporting local authorities and housing partners in their work to address housing needs.
This session will explore not only the opportunities presented by the SAHP, including funding routes and delivery prospects, but also the challenges and strategic considerations associated with utilising the programme to tackle empty homes and unlock new affordable housing capacity.
Delegates will gain insights directly from Homes England on how local authorities and housing organisations can engage with the SAHP, contribute to national and local housing priorities, and support the regeneration of under-used housing stock.
We look forward to welcoming Steven Parkin and hearing his expert perspective on how the SAHP can help communities deliver more sustainable, affordable housing solutions.
