Judging the Empty Property Practitioner of the Year Award 2010, sponsored by Ad Hoc Property Management Ltd proved to be a difficult business, with some high quality submissions. The panel consisted of Keith Gunner of Southampton City Council, Britain's longest-serving Empty Homes Officer and himself a winner of an Empty Homes Agency Liftetime Achievement award, Nick Hilton of Ad Hoc Property Management, and David Gibbens (NAEPP Secretary).
After a split vote and some careful thought the panel decided that one award was not sufficient. The final results, then, were as follows:

The Empty Homes Network Guidelines for local authorities on nonitoring empty homes interventions documents are now in their final and approved versions, having been approved at the EHN(NAEPP) Executive Meeting of the 24th Febuary 2010. (Earlier versions are also available in the Information Library).
A slightly updated version was released in December 2010 to reflect the change of name from NAEPP to EHN.
We will be lobbying for the relevant information to be included in the annual HSSA return to give due recognition to local authority empty homes work.
